Editorial Policy
The editorial policy of mindandmargin defines what the site will and will not publish. Our subject is the condition, the evidence-based treatment, and how to actually get care. We do not publish content related to betting, gambling, or financial speculation. We will never invent a quote or present fictionalised scenarios. We do not publish details about a person's private life. Information on health, legal or financial matters is presented for general reference only and must never be construed as personal instruction or advice.
The site separates reporting from reference material. The News section contains timely reporting on developments in research, policy, and services. All other sections, such as Conditions, Treatment, and Getting care, contain static reference material that is fact-checked and updated as needed to reflect the current evidence base and practical landscape. These reference pages are built to be enduring resources.
When a claim cannot be verified through established sources, such as peer-reviewed literature, official guidance, or direct confirmation from a relevant authority, it is not published. We clearly indicate the sources of information and the date of last review on our pages. We prioritise clarity over certainty and will state when evidence is limited or conflicting.
We treat images with strict guidelines. Where a real photograph is used, it will be credited to its source. We will never use a picture of a real person's face that has been generated by software or artificial intelligence. Illustrative or symbolic imagery will be clearly described as such.
Readers who wish to comment on our content, suggest a correction, or raise a concern can write to the editorial team. Correspondence should be sent to the contact address published on the site. We review all feedback but may not be able to provide an individual response.
